The demand for locally-grown grapes is outpacing the supply in Ohio, and this trend should continue to increase. Research and trials are underway at South Centers to establish grape growers throughout Ohio to meet this demand.
OSU Small Fruit Specialist, Maurus Brown, will discuss the resources and strategies needed to begin producing wine grapes.
Growers will learn:
• The status of the Ohio Wine Industry
• How much demand there is for wine grapes
• The key components of wine grape production
• Where to look for vineyard resources
• How to obtain OSU Extension Bulletins and Fact Sheets
• Who to contact for a farm visit
